The first goal came before the fifteen-minute mark, following a quick play from a throw-in. Santiago López broke down the wing, and his cross was connected by Martín Garay, who scored the 1-0 for the home team. Tigre maintained control of the game and extended their lead in the 28th minute when Ramón Arias assisted Ignacio Russo from a corner kick, who scored the second goal for the Victoria-based squad.

In the second half, the team managed by Diego Dabove maintained possession, though they lowered their intensity. América de Cali failed to react or create significant danger at the goal defended by Felipe Zenobio.
